Hello and thank you for entering Rhyl & District Probus Club Page.
Like all Probus Clubs we are a completely autonomous group with very few restraints, even financial, and have very few Rules except for Members to inform the Secretary at least 24 hours before if you are not able to attend a Lunch.
Rhyl Club has Ladies and Men Members drawn from Abergele, Rhyl, Prestatyn, Rhuddlan, St.Asaph, Dyserth and even further afield. We meet at 12.30 for a convivial chat at the Bar followed at 1pm by a 2 course Lunch on the first Wednesday of every month at The Elwy Hall, Grange Road, Rhyl LL18 4RG. Free car park on site. Bus from the Town Centre stops 100yds away. Maybe if transport is a problem I could help, do get in touch. There is wheelchair access too.
A Speaker, external or one of our own members is invited to speak to us for about 45mins on basically any topic.
As we are all substantially retired, whether of age or not, we have no responsibilities with regard to fund-raising or anything else and have no ties at all. Just a leisurely meeting of like-minded folk once a month for a chat, lunch, a speaker and the occasional trip somewhere, usually involving food!
STOP PRESS Feb 2018 - The AGM decided to Welcome Ladies to become Members and have a joint Membership @ £35 pa. Singles £25pa. (Gentlemen or Ladies)
Please don’t be put off by the PROfessional and BUSiness in the name, we are not a ‘stuffy’, ‘clicky’ lot. There are Doctors, shopkeepers, teachers, policemen, journalists, council employees etc etc, your past occupation and life, within reason, is not our concern, we are all in-part or fully RETIRED.
We also have the occasional ‘jaunt’ out to absolutely anywhere or anything we please and invite the ladies and friends, nowhere too far or too exacting, just a pleasant relaxing day out on the 3rd Thursday of a month. The alternate 3rd Thursday we have a Coffee 'n Chat session 10-12 in the Botanical Gardens Cafe on Grange Road, Rhyl. Pop along and introduce yourselves, you will be very welcome. We don't bite. Often.
If you think the above just might be of interest why not give us a try. Can you spare a couple of hours ‘socialising’ with people who could soon become friends? Do drop me an email to ask a question, for more details or to let me know which 1st Wednesday you would like to give us a try so I can order a lunch for you.
Thanks for reading this far. It would be great to meet you and maybe start a new chapter in your life. You never know you might just like the relaxed atmosphere and ‘laid back’ attitude, because you can, we do!
